This is Sydney's mecca for raging trannies most nights of the week. It's reasonably small and comfy, with a couple of bars, bistro meals, lots of pokies, and a disco. It costs the princely sum of $5 to join for a year, and admission to the main part of the club is free. Entry to the disco, which is usually open from 12 midnight, is $5 for members, and $10 for visitors. There's typically a dozen or twenty trannies there of a Saturday night, some sex workers, most just out for a good time. This club also attracts people who'd like to meet trannies.

This is also a cool pub with really friendly helpful and understanding staff, they have great music and artists - you are definitely one of the scene here, and would have to rate it as In other words well worth a visit. They, we and all of us have moved from the Wickham Park Hotel in Islington. I have been assured that the good service and traditions that were foundered in the Wickham Park Hotel will remain with us in the move for bigger and better times ahead.
Note: April 2000 The Cambridge seems to be getting a more heterosexual crowd there nowdays, however you are still welcome to attend en femme, there are a lesbian couple still running the hotel whom I know quite well and always welcome me when I go there.

Club G
formerly (The Barracks)
Maitland Road,
This Pub changed ownership on the 1st of August 1999. It remains a gay / lesbian / T-Girl venue, and I must give it a ratingas the number one real cool venue with understanding staff. Nothing seems to be a problem for the two girls running the hotel Lucyand her new girlfriend Felicity, are really great and always go out of their way to make you feel welcome and part of the place, theyhave a great night club attached to the hotel and have new extended operating hours. They also have drag shows, as well as othershows which are all well worth seeing. It also has a very nice restaurant/snack bar, well worth a try. Sunday evening offers a nicerelaxing night (to get over Saturday nite) with a variety of entertainment, they are always changing their format to keep things enjoyableand interesting. They always make you feel like one of the scene here, and offer help and advice when you need it.
This club and hotel would have to be the best gay / lesbian / T-Girl venue of Newcastle, with more and more T-Girls going there allthe time. Friday night would have to be the best night of all closely followed by Saturday night. You can generally be assured of findingother T-Girls there on those nights, and you never know, you might even run into me. In early Feb 2000, "g" was named the 3rd bestnight club venue in the Newcastle area by one of the local radio stations NXFM.
